The Turtle Creek Conservancy hosted the 3rd Annual KIDS FISHING DERBY on Saturday, June 17th from 8 to 10 am at the Fishing Pier in Turtle Creek Park! This year’s event, held in memory of Nell Heathington Baldwin, was a resounding success with 50+ kids joining us to fish. All told, there were well over 100 in attendance. Everyone enjoyed fishing, breakfast tacos, and coffee from Lucky’s Diner. Fly fishing author Greg DeMars was on hand to give fly fishing instruction and prizes were given for biggest fish, smallest fish, longest fish, shortest fish, and most fish caught.
Donors also gave to support the Kids Fishing Derby in honor of a father in their lives or in memory of Nell. Donor’s names are listed on the Father’s Day page on our website. You may still make a donation here: https://bit.ly/Donate2TCC
Thank you so much for attending this great event and for supporting it with your donations!
