Historic Bridge Restoration

This ambitious joint initiative is being led by Turtle Creek Conservancy, Turtle Creek Association, and the City of Dallas. The overarching mission, estimated at $370,000, is focused on the restoration and long-term care of the eight historic bridges located along Turtle Creek.

 

Turtle Creek Conservancy is focused on Hall Street and Bowen Street Bridges.

Of which, the TCC Board of Directors has pledged 100% match participation.

 

Hall Street Bridge Goals

Circa 1908

  • Revitalize and improve the existing concrete bridge and railing
  • Replace the existing fence with historically accurate railing
  • Add vintage street lamps correct to 1916

Bowen Street Bridge Goals

Circa 1916

  • Repair and restore four existing street lamps
  • Sandblast concrete bridge and metal fence
  • Restore parts of the wrought iron fence
